Patient payment financing for dental practices
SmileFund is a service of JGX DIGITAL LAB LLC that helps dental practices offer their patients structured payment plans for dental treatment. Patients enroll in plans at their dental practice and pay over time through automated installments.
How SmileFund Works
- A patient consults with their dental practice and is presented with a treatment plan.
- If the patient elects to finance the treatment, the practice enrolls them in a SmileFund payment plan at the time of service.
- The patient electronically signs the financing agreement and provides explicit consent to receive electronic communications about their plan.
- JGX DIGITAL LAB LLC processes the patient's scheduled installments and sends the patient transactional updates about their plan via email and SMS.
Messaging Program (SMS & Email)
When a patient enrolls in a SmileFund payment plan at their dental practice, the patient consents to receive transactional account messages from JGX DIGITAL LAB LLC. We do not send marketing or promotional messages.
Messages relate exclusively to the patient's active payment plan and may include:
- Payment reminders — sent in the days before a scheduled installment.
- Failed-payment notices — sent when an automated charge does not succeed, with a link to retry.
- Collection notices — sent if a payment becomes past due, with a link to bring the account current.
- Signing links — sent at enrollment, to allow the patient to electronically sign the financing agreement.
Frequency varies by plan; typical frequency is 4–8 messages per month while a plan is active and zero once the plan is paid in full. Message and data rates may apply.
Opt-In (How Consent Is Obtained)
Patient consent to receive SMS and email is obtained in person, in writing, at the patient's dental practice at the time the patient enrolls in a payment plan. The consent language is part of the signed SmileFund financing agreement. Consent is required to enroll in a payment plan because the plan is serviced by electronic communication.
